Healing Good News for Balance

A mighty ocean is made up of drops of water. A great healing chi-field is made up of individual healing stories. Every healing story is a story of love --the love of oneself and others through ups and downs. Every healing story is a story of  triumph -- the triumph of one's spirit over one's temporarily setback. Life is no guarantee. We love life as it comes.

My legs, back and ankles would never have been strong...

Martha Howard

I have a great story to tell you--today when I was bringing my Dad in from going to get his blood drawn, he came up toward the door and started to fall backward. He was falling really hard because his muscles were in spasm.  I was able to make a quick "rolling" move around him, stop him from falling, and keep us both balanced (he was just dead weight at that point) so that I was holding him up with my back, then raised him back to a standing position with us back to back, and "rolled" back around and took his arm and led him into the house.  My legs, back and ankles would never have been strong enough and my balance would not have been good enough to do that if I had not been practicing Chi-lel.  He really thought when he started to fall that he would fall on the concrete curb and be badly hurt.  When we got back upstairs, he said "You saved my life," and I said, "It was only because of Chi-lel."   Thanks, and Wan Yuan Ling Toon, and love to you and Frank,

I am walking without a cane

Dear Luke and Frank:
Once again thank you for Glen Ivy.  Life only gets better and better, I
am walking without a cane and going up and down stairs like a real person
again.  Your work is truly a blessing to all.  We daily send our love and chi
to you and Pang Lao-shi.  And we have had a few of our patients
(chiropractic) ask about a group here.  We will all be practicing together
and are looking forward to attending a retreat as a group.
    Much loving chi,
Lynne and Roger.

Wall Squatting Exercise Saved Me from Injury

J. Daya Madison
New York City

How very much I appreciate the wall squatting exercise that Luke and Frank taught in their New York workshop last August. Without doubt, this saved me from suffering and again having to wear a leg brace.

I had recently injured to my right leg and had repeated falls, which increased the tears each time. So I was initially hesitant to do the wall squatting. However, with Luke's encouragement I gradually proceeded to do one, then two the first night. I increased the number to ten at a time, doing about thirty wall squats per day.

This really paid off when a folding tripod stool collapsed just when I was about to sit on it. With great ease, I was able to stand up without falling because of the strength the of the wall squatting practice had given me. Without it, I certainly would have been back in the brace and crutches
